Lonely traveller

I just spent the whole day roaming the streets of Bath- Alone.

And I guess that’s not such a bad thing..
Because when you’re alone, you’re forced to be more aware of your surroundings.
And what you realise may just be worth the loneliness.

I saw old couples sit under the shades of trees.
Talking, holding hands, and sometimes they let slip a peck or two..
Nothing over the top or repulsive.
Just simple gestures of love.
And I’m thinking, why don’t we see this more often in our culture?
(No, the Pevi/KLCC kids doing the nasty DOES NOT count)

I overhear an old man say to his wife;
“Look there honey, homemade chocolates! You love chocolates.”
*Tugs the wife along*
The wife says;
“Oh, it’s a little pricey isn’t it?”
He replied;
“Nothing’s too pricey for you. Anyways, we’re on holiday!”

I almost let an “Awwwwh~” slip.
I wish I’ll have somebody who adores me as much as that when I’m well over 60, fat and wrinkly.
I miss the boyfriend even more after seeing the love fest.
Meh.

PS: Staying on my low carb diet is harder than I thought here in the UK.
Nothing is readily halal except for vegan bread (Which I cannot eat), fruits and Vegetables (Which are expensive).
This is what I'll be eating most of the time:

It looked and tastes lovely but after a while, you'll yearn for something more filling.. T.T
Oh.. NOooo...
*guling2 kelaparan*

The TAMA Obsession Continues..

It's 4.15 am.
I have to be in The Palace of Justice by 8 am.
That will gimmie about... 4 hours of sleep?
Oh. Wait.
Sahur.
So that means 3 hours?
Oh, screw it.
If I sleep I'll NEVER be able to wake up.
Might as well stay up the whole night.
I just hope I don't end up snoring in the court room.
Now THAT will be an epic disaster.

Am passing the time by uploading some vids..
Just for fun, this is a vid of the rebirth of my Tamas.
(I had this vid for a while already..)
And you can tell that this was a spontaneous project by the number of bloopers (and also the complete lack of editing). Heh.

PS: I cheated on my low-carb diet.
I'm starting to eat small portions of rice & I even scarfed down a couple spoon full of ice cream.
*Flying kick muka sendiri*
And I'll be going to an office buka puasa shindig tonight!
That means MORE carbs.
Uggh.. I HATE my lack of self control.

What would one sacrifice for vanity?!

In my case, it's carbohydrates.
Though I love them so~

It's day 5 of my low carb-diet.
Yes, day 5.
I dared not announce it before I started.
Buat malu je if I don't even last 3 days!

I started because a guy who fancied me said "Oh, you got chubbier! You were thinner last year."
I must have given him a death stare because he instantly covered up by saying "But it suits yoooouuu.." (I spelled it that way because it was exactly how he said it.)
And you think THAT's gonna score u any points?!
No wonder you're still single.
(Still in a quite bitter mood.)
Men, a word of advice, do NOT tell a girl that she's gained weight, or worse, FAT.
It will only get you into trouble.
Even if it's true, lie.

But I guess the straw that broke my back was when my mom uttered "My god! You've gained!".
Twas the FIRST thing she said to me when I got home.
Ouch.
Hence my attempt to shed the pounds :(

I must admit, this low carb-diet is hard to stick to.
Especially since I can't eat all the things I love..
So now I just look at them..

Looking....
Still looking..
Absorb every last bit of carb with my eyes..
...And I'm done!
Now I'm full!
Meh.

But The worse part is that I can't have my all time fav food..

Drools..
Ohhh... Lush Jamoca Almond Fudge..
Why oh WHY are you so bad for me..
And yet.. I ache for you..

Thank god there's 'Cheats'.
If I'm not allowed a day a month to eat indulgent things, I think I'll go nuts..

But hey, this is a much better way to lose weight then to starve myself.
(I would NEVER do that!)
All I need to do is to cut down my sugar intake.
Hmm... Actually exercising may be a good idea too.
I'll try harder.. *Sighs..*

Tomorrow's goal: exercise! (codename for wash my car!)
Haha..

Animated!

Have been awfully busy writing the Jessup memorials.
good news, first draft done.
Bad news, it's ONLY the first draft.
Lots and LOTS more to research on :'(
AND Mama Shai has left us to go to fabulous Paris.
Great.

But before she left, we all thought that it's best if we let out some steam..
So off to Seoul Garden to pig out!
I LOVE the food there!
All the lamb, beef, chicken, fish and squid I can eat!
And playing masak-masak with all your fav people is so much fun!
(Due to the horrific table manners displayed during 'the pig out' session, no pictures were taken.)

Just to put off going back to the moot court, we opted to go watch a movie.
Heh.

We chose Disney's Rapunzel, Tangled simply because:
1) It required the least brain power to follow the story line.
2) I heard that it's a laugh. After days trapped in the Kamar Hakim, laughter needed.
3) It's Disney for god's sake! I have not missed one yet! XD

And I have to say, apart from the singing- it was darn good.
(If it's supposed to be a goddamn musical, then be one. If it's not, do away with the singing- and yes, I'm not a fan of HSM or Glee either.)

The whole movie was saved by the silent characters, the chameleon, Pascal and the horse/dog??, Maximus.

Oh, and we have our very own Rapunzel cast too!
It's so eerily similar!

1)Obviously, Shai is Rapunzel. (Duhh! Even their out fits match!)
She's the princess of the team. Born into a noble family but is down to earth & kind.

2)Not so obviously, Izzat is Flynn.
Ehh.. just because Shai is generous enough to make him the hero by simply being with him. (Just like Flynn!) Sorry dude. Heh.

3) Khairil is Maximus.
The side-kick of Flynn (or in our case, Izzat) but also would rather listen to Rapunzel (in our case, Shai). See how similar this is???

4) Zharif is Pascal!
My fav character! Haha. Z is really the best fit.
Loyal, helpful and most importantly, cool as ice.

5) I'm obviously the evil one. Meh.
But I have to admit, I'm as every bit as dramatic as the old hag.
(The only difference is, I'm just better looking. Ha!)
Plus, if you knew of a magical being that is the equivalent of the fountain of youth, wouldn't you keep it??
I would!
And jangan nak cover2, I know you would too..

I want a pet just like Pascal!
That would be so cool.
I want it SO badly!

Post Eid 2010

To describe the trip in one word; AWESOME!

I had NO idea I missed him this much :/
And the time spent was definitely compensation for the long time apart. (Heh)

The trip was more of a makan trip than anything else..
We were munching all the way yo!
Or at least I was.. Seriously, the food there rocks!
I do not know if it’s just the ‘holiday’ mood kicking in or it really does taste THAT good.
You can decide for yourself;

Almond Milk.

Tastes like milky spiced tea.
And since I was too full (tapi mengada nak rasa jugak) this was as far as I got to finishing it.
Membazir! Heh.

From left: Garlic cheese naan set and butter chicken.

I know... All VERY fattening.
But hey, who knows when’s the next time I get to feast on their butter chicken!
Twas absolutely yummy!
Mmmm... writing about it makes me hungry. Cis.
At Kapitan
Credits to Dan for introducing the place.

If you’re ever in Penang and happen to visit Titi Kerawang waterfall (or anywhere near the place), drive a lil more down south and you’ll find the cutest home cooked asam laksa place;

Ain’t it just adorable?
And it’s at a real house.
The whole place was very homey..

The food was good too.
I’m not much of an asam laksa fan. (Normally I get fish bones in soup. Yeesh.)
But I actually enjoyed this! And the prawn popia-like appetisers were how I liked them; moist in the inside, crunchy on the outside.
*Mouth waters*
At home cooked assam laksa

It’s been awhile since we’ve last watched the sun set on the beach.
I forgot how magical it was.
I wouldn’t trade you for anyone else in the world :)

Oh, and we even managed to go on our very own nature expedition while waiting for the sun to set.
There were critters galore.
And they say you have to pay to see the fishies and all the other crawlies.. Bah!

I can cook? :)

I cant believe I botched up INSTANT soup.
Sure, twas 'Chinese mushroom soup' but it was STILL instant.
I think the expiry date was up.
I'm not sure :/
It looked kinda ok;

See?? Looks safe..

But it tasted... off.
Only after the 3rd spoon did I finally realise that it wasn't supposed to taste THAT bad.
Nobody would buy this thing if it tasted the way it did!
Uggh!
So down the sink it goes.
Epic FAIL.

Which brought me to my new revolution;
To start learning how to cook, bake and anything to do with being a domestic goddess!
*Grins*

So in the spirit of Raya, I've tried baking!
First experiment: Choc chip hazelnut cookies.

The first batch actually got burnt.
(=.=)"
Oh well.. After some trial and error I think I got it to 'passable'.
It wasn't perfect.
But at least it was edible (twas a lil hard).
Heh.

But not to be deterred, I stared on my second experiment; Choc chip butterscotch cookies!
And it was actually really good!
Yay!

Ain't it pretty??
Tee-hee.

Next quest; Actually cook dinner!
(If not for the whole family, then at least just for me.)
No need to humiliate myself with the lack of cooking skills :/

p/s: Both batches of cookies were dispatched to the boyfriend :)
Am hoping he likes it.
*Crosses fingers*

More to come soon :)
